D.I.Y. Series: Create Your Own Mouthwash

It doesn’t matter what event you go to. It doesn’t matter how many people you see a day. What matters is the effort that is put into making sure that people don’t remember you as the one with bad breath. No one likes to tell someone else that they have stinky breath and they shouldn’t have too.  Bad breath can be embarrassing, but the great part about it is that it can be fixed. When I’m on the go, I like to carry my own natural mouthwash that helps me fight bad breath and food left behind from  dinner. Here is an easy recipe that you can use as a base to create your own mouthwash. You can change out  the essential oils to what works best for you. Here’s what you'll need:

1 cup of water (I use spring water, but you can also use distilled water)

5 drops of peppermint essential oil

5 drops spearmint essential oil

1 small bpa free bottle

Pour all ingredients in bottle. Shake well. Take a sip and swish in mouth for at least 20 seconds, then spit it out. It is recommended to not swallow the mouthwash. You can add a few more drops of essential oils for a heavier scent and concentrated blend. I get my essential oils from Mountain Rose Herbs. They truly have high quality organic ingredients. You should only use organic or 100%  high grade and pure essential oils.
